昨天晚上除夕夜，在南加华人聚居去 Monterey Park 发生了大规模枪击案，至少10人死亡，多人受伤，嫌犯仍在逃。枪击案发生在一个舞厅，而附近有很多人正在庆祝农历新年。
洛杉矶县警察局警长 Andrew Meyer 周六早晨确认说，有10人当场被宣布死亡，另有10人受伤被送往当地医院。Meyer 表示嫌犯是一名男性，在枪击案发生后从现场逃逸，目前仍在逃。警方目前没有发布针对嫌犯更多的细节。
警方抵达现场是差不多周六晚上10点半，当时里面有人涌出来，还有人在尖叫。事发具体地点在 120 West Garvey Avenue 区域，附近还有德成行和一些餐馆和商店。Meyer 表示警方目前并不知道使用的具体是什幺样的枪，目前对枪手的动机也还不能下结论，不知道枪手是否认识受害者中的一个，也不知道这是不是仇恨犯罪。警方还在调查附近 Alhambra Lai Lai 舞厅的一起案件，有内幕人士告诉媒体警方相信这两起案件是有联系的，内幕人士还表示警方其实已经知道嫌犯的身份。
